Leticia González Serrano
Graduated in Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense of Madrid, with a major in Painting Restoration. I have had the opportunity of doing my postgraduates studies in Florence, Italy. I have also studied a major in Art History at USC (University of Southern California) on a Fulbright scholarship.
I am currently a Technical Drawing and Visual Arts teacher at a public high school in Majadahonda (Madrid). Now that my three children are almost grown up, I can spend part of my free time working on my engravings and collages, which I am so fond of.
The engraving process requires patience, skill, precision, neatness. A special and unique relationship is established between the artist and the artwork in which you have to imagine the entire process, from the simple idea to the final print. It is a technique with infinite possibilities that enables me to investigate, practice, test and innovate in a constant creative process.
The collage, on the contrary, is a freer technique which gives me the opportunity to create images out of a wide range of papers: tissue papers, Japanese, Korean, magazine clippings…
Currently, I am working at Iván Araujo’s studio (@ivan_araujo_estudiograbado), where I share ideas and space with other artists, in a unique and enriching creative communion.
